Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Clan Bathrooms collects, why, who we share it with and your rights. It covers our website, our online shop and our bathroom fitting service.

What we collect

• Contact details: name, address, email address and phone number.
• Order details: what you buy, delivery address, delivery instructions and order history.
• Payment information: card payments are handled by our payment provider. We see the payment status and the last four digits of the card, but never your full card number.
• Quote and fitting details: information about your property and project, and any photos you send us.
• Messages: what you send us through forms, email, phone or social media.
• Website data: IP address, browser and device type, and how you use the site, collected through cookies (see below).

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We only share what each party needs to do its job:

• Our suppliers and their couriers, who send many orders directly to you. They receive your name, delivery address, phone number and the items to deliver.
• Our payment provider (Stripe), which processes card payments and checks for fraud.
• Our website host (WPX Hosting) and email providers, which store data on our behalf.
• Our accountants, for bookkeeping and tax.
• Finance provider, only if you apply for finance on a fitting quote.
• Police, regulators or other authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision or standard data protection clauses.

How long we keep it

• Order, invoice and payment records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax.
• Quotes that don’t go ahead: up to 2 years.
• Enquiries and messages: up to 2 years after our last contact.
• Marketing: until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

We use cookies that the site needs to work, for example to keep items in your basket and to keep you signed in. With your consent we also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of each page.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is wrong;
• ask us to delete your information (we may need to keep some records, such as invoices, by law);
• object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information;
• ask us to move your information to another organisation;
• withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.

Keeping it safe

The website uses an encrypted (https) connection. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to deal with your order or project.
