Samantha and Andy's two bathrooms (Burnside, 2021)
We fitted Samantha and Andy's main bathroom first. When they built a downstairs extension, they asked us back to do the second one.
The main bathroom. A big room, so we gave it both a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower.

We fitted:
- a freestanding slipper bath with a floor-standing bath filler, under the window
- a walk-in shower on a low white stone-effect tray, with a single glass panel, a ceiling rain head, a concealed thermostatic valve and a handset
- an LED-lit niche lined with hexagon mosaic
- a wall-hung oak vanity with an open shelf, a white worktop, a round countertop basin and a wall-mounted tap
- a round backlit LED mirror and a tall column radiator
- large grey stone-effect tiles on the walls and floor, with downlights in the ceiling

The main bathroom came to around £12,000 including VAT.
The downstairs shower room. The extension needed a small bathroom that didn't feel small.

We fitted:
- a shower enclosure with a bifold door, so it opens without swinging into the room
- a brushed brass concealed shower valve, a ceiling-mounted rain head and a brass handset on a slide holder
- an LED-lit niche in the shower wall, trimmed in brushed brass
- a compact wall-hung basin with a brushed brass tap and bottle trap, to keep the floor clear
- a close-coupled toilet, a round mirror and a brass toilet roll holder
- grey stone-effect tiles with a textured band running round the room, and brass trim round the window recess

The same brushed brass runs through every fitting, so a narrow room feels finished rather than squeezed. The shower room came to around £9,000 including VAT. Like the brass? It's from our Clan Signature collection, the taps, showers and furniture we recommend from 20 years of fitting.
Coming back to the same customers for a second room is the best review we can get.
Bathrooms in every type of Rutherglen home
Rutherglen is older than Glasgow, and the houses change a lot from one street to the next. Each type is built differently behind the tiles, so we plan for it at the home visit, not halfway through the job.
- Sandstone tenements. On and around Main Street. Walls and floors are rarely straight, and old pipe runs and timber floors need checking and making good before anything is tiled.
- 1930s semis and bungalows. Burnside and Stonelaw. Solid houses with smaller bathrooms, where the layout makes all the difference.
- Post-war houses. Spittal, Blairbeth and Fernhill. Often a bath that could become a walk-in shower, or a room where moving the toilet opens up the space.
- Extensions and newer homes. Like Samantha and Andy's. New stud walls mean fixings for wall-hung basins, valves and towel rails get planned in before the boards go up.

Bathroom design in Rutherglen
A small room doesn't have to mean a small bathroom. At the free home design visit we measure up, find where the pipework and soil pipe run, and work out what will actually fit: a bifold door where a hinged one would hit the toilet, a lit niche instead of a shelf, or a wall-hung basin that frees up the floor. If something won't work in your room, we'll tell you before you spend the money.
Your written quote lists every product with a link to our shop. You can swap a tap or a vanity and see the price change before anything is ordered.
